Allison Sloan discovered her yoga practice while studying philosophy in the mountains of Santa Fe, instilling in her a sense of calmness she has carried with her ever since. In 2014 she completed her 200 hour training in New York and became a regular teacher at a studio in Brooklyn. As a natural seeker and learner of all things, she immersed herself in different styles of practice from Ashtanga to Bikram to Yin and slowly developed her own methods by drawing from tradition. In 2018 she began incorporating sacred medicine into her meditation and yoga practice, finding she could even further connect to the philosophical concepts she had of yet only understood theoretically. For the past year she has been working closely with a psychiatrist in New York who uses the healing power of sacred medicines to treat clinical psychiatric disorders with astounding success. She believes wholeheartedly in the power of these medicines and their inherent place in the world of yoga and personal growth.
